ARDEX UK at Madame Tussauds
With over 2 million people a year
visiting Madame Tussaud’s, the maintenance of all flooring
is a major item.
When the time arrived for the wood
flooring in the Pier Café to be replaced, to
be in keeping with the ‘typical English Pier’ theme
of the café, Amtico Stripwood was selected.
In order to limit the inconvenience
to their visitors, the Madam Tussaud’s management team
wanted the Pier Café closed for as short a period
of time as possible while the work was carried out and
thus selected ARDEX
A 35 for the replacement screed as this product
was developed for just this type of fast-track situation.
ARDEX
A 35 has rapid setting, hardening and drying qualities
which means it is walkable 3 hours after application
and that a BRE screed test can be carried out after
only 24 hours, when the screed will be dry enough to
receive floor coverings. No special techniques are necessary
and, in fact, conventional cement/sand screed laying
techniques were used. However, for difficult locations,
ARDEX A 35
screed mortar can be pumped.
