ARDEX Secures Large Contract
ARDEX
K 15 self-levelling smoothing compound, manufactured
by ARDEX UK Limited, was chosen by main contractor John
Laing for the Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and
Food to successfully smooth an area of 16000m².
ARDEX submitted
recommendations on how to overcome residual moisture
in the 16000m²
of powerfloat concrete at the York based laboratories.
The specification was ARDEX
K 15 as a pumped levelling compound with ARDEX
P 82 primer. Some small areas required pre-levelling
with ARDEX S 21
rapid-setting mortar prior to applying ARDEX
K 15.
Previous experience
and ARDEX's proven track record of applications convinced
Laings that ARDEX
K 15 was the correct solution, despite not being
the cheapest material offered.
Laings are
said to be delighted at the degree of co-operation from
ARDEX, with particular regard to on-site advice and
support. It was also recognised that the application
was handled with a high degree of competence by the
sub-contractor Cape Specialist Coatings.
